Sizzler Hawaii | Celebrating Boy's Day on May 5, 2010

On May 5th, Sizzler will be celebrating Boy’s Day!

Boy’s Day
is also referred to as Tango no Sekku. It is a Japanese holiday that started between the years of 593 A.D. to 629 A.D and it was brought to Hawaii by Japanese immigrants.

Every May 5th Boy’s Day is celebrated in Hawaii. Large kite-like koi fish (carp) are hung from thin bamboo poles from our home. One carp for every boy in the household and the carp represent strength and power. and they are thought to bring courage and the ability to meet goals to the boy they represent.

We, Sizzler Restaurants in Hawaii are celebrating Boy's Day too!

Come into any Sizzler Restaurant in Hawaii on Boy’s Day and you will receive a special Boy’s Day Coloring Sheet. Show us your best coloring, complete the entry form and your drawing could be selected to win a FREE Kid’s Meal!*
